Wednesday, February 17, 2016, we are launching out of Stuart for our first destination of the Journey, Cartagena, Colombia.

The participants gathered for our first briefing of the Journey. After presenting all the "goodies" to everyone - bags, jackets, hats, even bottled oxygen for our high altitude destinations - we reviewed the navigation logs and flight plans for today's flight.

After the briefing ended, we loaded up into the planes and we were ready to go! or so we thought. We experienced a rather unusual situation on the ground. Due to heavy traffic and a radar shortage in Kingston, Jamaica, we were delayed over an hour on the ground in Stuart. Finally, around noon, we were wheels up for Cartagena, Colombia - most with a fuel stop in Kingston, Jamaica due to the strong headwinds.

Our stop in Kingston was fast and efficient and we were back in the air in no time.

Cruising towards Cartagena with blue skies and the continued headwind.
1 hr and 50 minutes later (for the citation mustang), we were on the group, closing up the planes and enjoying a beautiful sunset among the haze of Cartagena. The delay in Stuart caused us to arrive much later than expected but still before sunset.

When you give pilots some free time - we tested the equipment during the flight
